The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Diaspora has issued a stern warning to Atiku Isah, who claims to be the president of NANS, urging him to refrain from involving Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, in the internal affairs of the student union.
In a statement released by Comrade Joshua Olakunle, President of the Coach Decorum Movement and Director of West Africa Affairs for NANS Diaspora, the group condemned what it described as persistent defamation and political propaganda targeted at Seyi Tinubu. Olakunle emphasized that Seyi Tinubu is a private citizen with no formal ties to student union activities or leadership.
“Seyi Tinubu has no involvement in NANS operations,” the statement read. “Dragging his name into student politics is not only misleading but appears to be a calculated attempt to fracture the unity among Nigerian students.”

The statement reaffirmed Comrade Olusola Oladoja as the duly elected and recognized president of NANS, following what it described as a transparent and peaceful election process.
Olakunle criticized Atiku Isah’s continued public claims and accused him of fronting for unnamed political sponsors. He further alleged that Isah never participated in the most recent NANS convention and holds no constitutional position within the association.
“Our attention has been drawn to the false claims by Atiku isah , who is parading himself as NANS president without legal or electoral legitimacy,” he said. “His antics serve only to mislead the public and stir unnecessary division, likely under the influence of faceless political actors.”
He warned that individuals using student platforms to fuel national tension must desist, stating, “If Atiku and his political backers, including vocal sympathizer are not out to destabilize the country, then there is no reason to drag Seyi Tinubu into their narrative.
The group called on all parties to focus on unifying Nigerian students and supporting genuine efforts for national development, particularly those championed by young leaders in the current administration.

“Our message is clear: stop the misinformation, stop the name-dropping, and stop targeting individuals who are genuinely working to uplift Nigerian youth,” Olakunle concluded.
