In a significant move to promote self-reliance and economic empowerment, 500 residents from across Lagos State have received a wide range of vocational tools through an initiative spearheaded by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.

The empowerment ceremony, held at Lagos House in Ikeja, saw beneficiaries equipped with tools for various trades including bricklaying, plumbing, welding, auto electrical work, aluminum fabrication, carpentry, and tiling. Others received equipment for tailoring, catering, grinding, popcorn production, spraying, and mechanical services.

The initiative, aimed at strengthening livelihoods and reducing unemployment, was made possible through the support of development partners such as FCMB, Providus Bank, the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), and the Ministry of Commerce, Trade & Investment.

The event was attended by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, who represented the First Lady. Also present were senior government officials and stakeholders committed to sustainable development across the state

The beneficiaries are now better positioned to contribute meaningfully to their communities, create job opportunities, and drive grassroots economic growth.
