The Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has called on members of the public to help locate a TikTok user who recently alleged that she was sexually assaulted in her apartment by an unidentified man.

In a statement released on Tuesday through its official platforms, the agency confirmed it is making efforts to reach the young woman to provide support services and determine her whereabouts. The appeal followed widespread reactions online after her video recounting the incident went viral.

The survivor, identified as Mirabel, known on TikTok as @mirab351, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, February 15. According to her account, she had been struggling with insomnia and later heard a knock on her door in the morning.

She stated that upon opening the door, she was forcefully attacked and lost consciousness. When she regained awareness, she alleged that the suspect was still in her apartment. She further claimed she sustained injuries during the assault before the man eventually left.

Mirabel also shared screenshots of a message allegedly sent by the suspect after the incident. In the message, the sender claimed to know her and referenced previous encounters. The content of the message has sparked outrage across social media platforms.

The hashtag #StopRapingWomen has since trended on X, formerly known as Twitter, with thousands of users demanding justice and stronger protections for women against sexual violence.

In a subsequent video, the young woman appeared visibly distressed and disclosed that she had been hospitalised after harming herself. The agency reiterated that it is working to contact her and urged anyone with useful information about her location to come forward so that immediate assistance can be provided.
