Katsina State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with J Williamz Limited, promoters of the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS), to attract funding for key social development projects in the state.

The agreement, signed on Monday at the Katsina State Governor’s residence, aims to channel diaspora investment towards critical sectors such as MSME development, education, healthcare, and other social initiatives. Governor Dikko Umar Radda signed on behalf of the state government, while Prince Bimbo Roberts Folayan, Founder of NDDIS, represented the investment summit group.

The MoU follows Katsina State’s participation in the 12th edition of the Nigerian Diaspora MSMEs & Job Creation Investment Summit held in London in March 2025, where the state appealed to international philanthropic funders for support in executing social impact projects.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by key stakeholders, including Dr. Wale Fasanya, the state’s lead consultant on MSME development and former Director-General of SMEDAN; Dr. Ibrahim Musa Gani, Director of Enterprise Development and Promotion at KASEDA; and Dr. Babangida Ruma, Technical Assistant to the Governor on Enterprise Development.
Speaking at the event, Prince Folayan emphasized the importance of diaspora engagement in national development. “This MoU represents a major step in connecting the Nigerian diaspora with impactful projects in Katsina State. Through strategic funding, we can create real change in critical sectors of Katsina State’s economy,” he said.

He reiterated NDDIS’s commitment to facilitating diaspora-led investments in Nigeria, adding that the organisation has, for over a decade, worked with government and private institutions to attract capital, expertise, and resources into the country.

The development was confirmed in a press statement by Lady Doyin Ola, Head of the NDDIS Media Team.
