A leading Islamic scholar from Kaduna has denied claims that he was a target during recent military operations against terrorists in northern Nigeria. The cleric clarified that reports linking him to the strikes are based on a misunderstanding of past events.

He explained that a previous warning he gave years ago about threats from terrorist groups has been misrepresented online. According to him, the incident occurred in 2012 when operatives attempted to attack him, but he was unharmed.

The cleric emphasized that he is currently safe, residing at home without any security threats. He urged the public and media outlets to verify information before sharing it to prevent the spread of false narratives.

He further highlighted that his comments about the past were taken out of context, and he never claimed involvement in or targeting by recent foreign military actions

Authorities and citizens have been encouraged to rely on verified reports, with the cleric calling for retractions from outlets that published the inaccurate information.
