A large crowd of Iranian expatriates gathered in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, expressing support for the ongoing conflict involving Iran and calling for a major political transition in their home country.

The demonstration, held near the National Mall, drew over a thousand participants waving Iranian and American flags while chanting slogans in support of the United States and the return of Iran’s former monarchy. Many in attendance voiced backing for Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s last ruler, as a potential figure to lead a transitional government.

Although Pahlavi was not physically present, his family members addressed the rally, reinforcing calls for political reform and a shift away from Iran’s current leadership. The exiled figure has gained renewed attention in recent months following unrest in Iran and escalating international tensions.

Several attendees openly supported the military action, describing it as necessary under the current circumstances. Some participants argued that the conflict could pave the way for democratic change, while others viewed it as an opportunity to dismantle Iran’s existing power structure.

Supporters of Pahlavi at the rally described him as a viable option to guide Iran through a transitional period. However, not all participants fully endorsed his long-term leadership, with some emphasizing the importance of eventual free elections to determine the country’s future government.

The rally highlighted deep divisions within the Iranian diaspora, reflecting a mix of strong support for regime change, differing views on leadership, and hopes for democratic reforms in Iran.
