Usman Isah, the publisher of Africa Health and Fitness Magazine and convener of the All Africa Medical and Wellness Expo 2023, emphasized the potential of medical tourism to drive healthcare development in Nigeria.
In a statement released by his organization, Isah encouraged the private sector to seize investment opportunities in medical tourism, as it could contribute to both healthcare and domestic tourism growth in Nigeria.
The theme of the All Africa Medical and Wellness Expo 2023 is "Developing sustainable domestic medical tourism for Nigeria’s health sector." This event is scheduled for October 4th and 5th, 2023, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja. Isah expressed his confidence that the expo would have a significant and lasting impact on healthcare and wellness in Nigeria and the wider African region.
Isah pointed out the importance of establishing strong policies for domestic tourism and providing incentives for quality patient management in Nigeria. He urged stakeholders in the health and medical sectors to leverage the opportunities presented by the expo to drive growth and development in both areas.
Furthermore, Isah called on the government to create a conducive business environment for the health sector to prosper. A thriving healthcare industry could not only attract local citizens but also international tourists, ultimately benefiting medical experts and promoting the growth of medical tourism in the country.
The All Africa Medical and Wellness Expo 2023 will feature distinguished speakers such as Nigerian Cardiologist Dr. Adeyemi Johnson, Dr. Zainab Suleiman, and Mrs. Susan Akporiaye.
Isah also revealed that the expo would include a special Awards for Excellence night to celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to both the healthcare and tourism sectors, serving as inspirations to all.
