The Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has charged its workforce to recommit to the principles of professionalism and care-driven service. During a strategic engagement meeting at the Folarin Coker Staff Clinic in Alausa, the leadership emphasized that the Ministry’s success depends on the collective responsibility and productivity of every staff member.

Honourable Commissioner Mr. Biodun Ogunleye addressed the staff, reminding them that public service is rooted in humanity and accountability. He stated that management and staff must view themselves as "people managers" whose daily decisions and actions have a direct and significant impact on the lives of millions of Lagosians relying on energy and mineral services.

Echoing this sentiment, Special Adviser Engr. Abiola Olowu urged officers to maintain high integrity and recognize the intrinsic value of their contributions. He noted that institutional excellence is only achievable when there is a shared sense of purpose, encouraging a shift toward self-motivation and innovative thinking to solve the state's energy challenges.

Permanent Secretary Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola reminded the team of the importance of administrative discipline, stressing that all official actions must adhere strictly to departmental mandates and proper documentation. He warned that transparency and accountability are non-negotiable standards as the Ministry works to regulate the electricity market and protect consumers from exploitation.

The engagement concluded with a reaffirmed focus on the "Energy for All" goal, highlighting core values such as teamwork, discipline, and effective time management. Staff were encouraged to collaborate across departments to strengthen the electricity sector, ensuring that Lagos residents enjoy reliable, affordable, and sustainable power as part of the state’s development agenda.
