Accra, May 1, 2025 – The Burkinabè community in Ghana has declared its strong support for President Ibrahim Traoré, praising his efforts to uphold Burkina Faso’s sovereignty and urging broader African unity against foreign interference.

During a formal presentation of a petition at the Burkina Faso Embassy in Accra, diaspora leader Romauld Sawadogo described Traoré as a courageous and visionary leader committed to African self-determination. He called on African leaders to rally behind him in resisting Western influence.

“We firmly support President Traoré’s mission to restore sovereignty to Burkina Faso and to inspire a united, independent Africa,” Sawadogo stated. “Now is the time for Africans to stand together and reclaim control of our future.”

In response, Ambassador David Kabre lauded the show of solidarity, describing Traoré as a beacon of hope for Africa’s youth. He warned of continued external efforts to destabilize Burkina Faso and emphasized the importance of defending African sovereignty.

“Any attempt to undermine President Traoré is an attack on the continent’s independence,” Kabre said. “We must resist and protect our right to chart our own path.”

The event reflected growing pan-African sentiment among diasporic communities and highlighted President Traoré’s expanding influence beyond Burkina Faso’s borders.
