Barcelona's Lamine Yamal Sets La Liga Youngest Scorer Record

Lamine Yamal, the rising star of Barcelona, made history as the youngest-ever goal scorer in La Liga.

At just 16 years and 87 days old, he surpassed Fabrice Olinga's record from 2012. During a match against Granada, Yamal's goal, assisted by Joao Felix, brought Barcelona back into the game just before half-time, as they were down by two goals.

Yamal recently extended his contract with Barcelona until 2026, featuring an astonishing one billion-euro release clause ($1.06 billion).

His remarkable journey began when he became Barcelona's youngest debutant at 15 years and 290 days old against Real Betis last season. This season, he also became La Liga's youngest starter in the 21st century and the youngest assist provider in the same period.

Furthermore, Yamal made headlines as Spain's youngest-ever player and goal scorer when La Roja dominated Georgia with a 7-1 victory in a Euro 2024 qualifier last month.
